Goznak is the only enterprise in the Russian Federation which manufactures standard and collectable Russian postage stamps. The Company accepts orders for the design and production of postage stamps for other countries.
Postage miniatures made by Goznak's masters are noted for their great thematic variety and high printing quality. A vast range of modern technological developments are applied in postage stamp production. These include the thermographic printing method, which helps to achieve a relief image, intaglio printing with the application of special as well as metalized inks, selective and complete varnishing with glossy UV varnish, foil stamping and relief stamping.
Goznak produces traditional postage stamps on gummed paper (the Moscow Printing Factory) and develops the production of postage miniatures on self-adhesive paper (the Perm Printing Factory).
In 2012, Goznak's specialists manufactured Russia's first batch of postage stamps with 2D barcodes. The official logo of the 22nd Olympic Winter Games of 2014 in Sochi and a QR-code are depicted on the stamp. With the code it is possible to access the official site of SOCHI 2014 with the help of a mobile device – to learn the latest news, visit the page of the official mascots and the SOCHI 2014 e-shop.
