Dmitry Medvedev was shown the Document Personalization Center at GoznakChairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev visited Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Goznak”, where he was shown the Document Personalization Center at the Moscow Printing Works.
In particular, Mr. Medvedev visited the section of biometric passport personalization as well as the section of personalization of electronic policies of obligatory medical insurance and universal electronic cards.
As Arkady Trachuk, General Director of Goznak reported to Head of the Government, all documents are produced basing on the principle of centralized personalization.
“The main idea is in the fact that a person applies for the document at one of the branches of the Federal Migration Service where a picture and fingerprints (if required for the document) are taken of him. The documents are processed, the decision of issuing the document is made, and the file containing this information is passed to the Printing Works of Goznak. The already filled-in document is shipped from Goznak to the branch where the person will receive the document”, explained Arkady Trachuk.
According to Arkady Trachuk, today Goznak produces over 5 million passports under this technology. “This year there is a possibility that we will exceed the 6-million boundary. The universal electronic card and the obligatory medical insurance policy are issued in the same way”, he added.
The Head of Goznak also noted that the technologies may be applied for the new identification card of the citizen, which can replace the existing Russian passport.
