Efficiency of the waste water treatment system of the Saint-Petersburg Paper Mill of Goznak has been confirmed 20.07.2014
Lots and lots of water are required for the paper production. Therefore the provision of safe water consumption and drainage is one of the priority directions of work of the ecologists of the Saint-Petersburg Paper Mill.
The Mill has its own water station, its aim is to provide the technological process.
The Legislation providing safe water consumption and drainage stipulates the norms of content of various substances in water. The controlling authorities are entitled to come and take a sample of water discharged at the Saint-Petersburg Mill at any time without notice. There are hatches outside the territory of the Mill for that.
A flotation save-all was installed for treating water used at the Saint-Petersburg Paper Mill; it separates all chemicals and additions from waste water at the first stage of water treatment. Wastewater treatment System management is fully automated, and one operator monitors the system.
The water treatment technologies are developing constantly, and in the future the Mill will transfer to non-waste production, during which the used water will not be discharged to the Neva after treatment but will be used for the technical purposes.
