Doors Open Day at the History of Money Museum 30 сентября 2020 года
A Doors Open Day will take place at the History of Money Museum on October 1. The main exposition and the “Signs of the Victory” Exhibition will be open from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Entrance is free and without preliminary booking, but the number of visitors will be limited in accordance with the epidemiology requirements. There will be no general tours on this day.
The Doors Open Day takes place within the framework of the Forum of Small Museums in which the History of Money Museum of Goznak also takes place. The present forum is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic war.
On October 2 at 5:00 p.m., within the framework of the forum, a curatorial tour of the “Signs of the Victory” Exhibition will take place. An employee of the Exhibition Complex of Goznak, a candidate of historical sciences Andrey Bogdanov will conduct it. Participation costs 250 roubles for adults and 150 roubles for students and pensioners. The number of participants is limited. The “Signs of the Victory” exhibition narrates the history of the Great Patriotic war via Goznak’s products. Unique objects from Goznak’s funds many of which are exhibited for the first time form the basis of the exhibition. They are sketches and trial variants of military awards, samples of government bonds, sketches of banknotes with the portraits of outstanding military leaders of the past and ordinary soldiers – pilots, infantrymen and Red Navy sailors.
The History of Money Museum is located in the building of Anninskiy Cavalier of the Peter and Paul Fortress (5 minutes’ walk from the Saint Petersburg Mint across the Cathedral Square). The “Signs of the Victory” Exhibition is in the halls of the House of the Fund Capitals (a building opposite Anninskiy Cavalier).
