The Victory fireworks in metal

On April 27, the Bank of Russia issued commemorative coins of silver struck at the Saint Petersburg Mint Branch of Goznak.

Three-rouble coins called The 75th anniversary of the Victory of the soviet people in the Great Patriotic war of 1941-1945 and The Rzhev Memorial to the soviet soldier are made of sterling silver in proof quality. The coins were struck in the numbers of 7,000 and 3,000 pieces.

On the reverse of The 75th anniversary of the Victory of the soviet people in the Great Patriotic war 1941-1945 silver coin, a red star from one of the Moscow Kremlin towers and the band of the medal For the victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic war of 1941-1945 are depicted against the background of the festive fireworks.

Anton Schablykin, an artist of the Design Center of Goznak, was the author of the coin design.

The coin dedicated to the Victory Day was issued in the special edition as we say here. The red star with gilded elements depicted on the coin was made using colored transparent enamel that looks quite spectacular on the coin reverse. The red enamel on the coin surface should remind of the ruby stars of the Kremlin towers, Anton Schablykin explains.

The background features the fireworks of 1945 on the occasion of the Victory. A motif from a historical photograph of the time was used as the basis for it. In my opinion, the coin has turned out really festive.

The reverse of The Rzhev Memorial to the soviet soldier silver coin features the monument to the soviet soldier. The monument is a part of the memorial complex in the Rzhev District of the Tver Region dedicated to all soldiers of the Great Patriotic war. The image of the monument to the soldier is relief; the background features silhouettes of flying cranes made using the laser matting technique.

Andrey Brynza, an artist of the Design Center of Goznak, designed this coin.

There were two ideas of the coin reverse design. One of them was the image of the monument against the background of the battle map. However, the second variant that you can see now was chosen, narrates Andrey Brynza.

The cranes flying in the background match the cranes on the monument to the soldier. The cranes flying to the sky symbolize the dead soldiers flying to heaven.

On the pictures, there are images of the obverse and the reverse of The 75th anniversary of the Victory of the soviet people in the Great Patriotic war of 1941-1945 and The Rzhev Memorial to the soviet soldier silver coins.
