A new project of the History of Money Museum: 200 questions for the 200th anniversary of Goznak 13.02.2018
This year, Goznak is celebrating its 200th anniversary – the company’s history started in 1818, when the Expedition of Storing State Papers was founded in Saint Petersburg under the order of Emperor Alexander I (the name of Goznak appeared in 1919).
For the occasion, the History of Money Museum has developed a project called “200 questions for the 200th anniversary of Goznak”. During 200 days, questions connected with the Expedition of Storing State Papers – Goznak will be published in the official group of the History of Money Museum in VKontakte social network (https://vk.com/museum_goznak), one question every day.
Anybody can participate in the project – one needs only to join the group of the museum, trace new questions and offer variants of answers in the comments.
The topics of questions prepared by the museum workers are varied. They include the products of the Expedition and Goznak – coins, banknotes, stamps, postcards, orders, medals, passports, security papers etc.; history of the branches of Goznak, particularly the oldest – the saint Petersburg Paper Mill and the Saint Petersburg Mint; famous people whose life was connected to the Expedition and Goznak.
The first question will appear at the page of the History of Money Museum on February 16 at 7:00 p.m. the next questions will be published daily, till September 3 (inclusively) at 7:00 p.m. it will be possible to answer them in the comments. On the next day after a publication, at 3:00 p.m., the museum workers will name the participant who has answered the question fully and correctly. The same procedure will take place every day. The results of the last “question of the day” will be summarized on September 4, Goznak’s birthday.
Preliminary results will be summed up every month (in February, questions published on February 16 – 28 will be counted, and in August – questions published on August 01 – September 03): the jury will name the winners of the month, who have given more correct answers than everybody else has. They will receive prizes from the History of Money Museum. After all the 200 questions have been asked, the jury will determine the absolute champion – a participant who has given the maximal number of correct answers throughout the project. That winner will receive a special prize.
200 questions for the 200th anniversary of Goznak: daily, since February 16, 2018, at https://vk.com/museum_goznak.
The project will terminate on September 4, 2018.
